Job summary

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of litigation legal assistant experience at a law firm.
• Insurance Defense strongly preferred.
• Experience with state court filings and procedures for NY and NJ.
• Familiar with NYSCEF and/or JEDS e-filing.
• Excellent organizational skills with multitasking ability.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with document management systems (NetDocs or similar).
• Ability to work independently and as a team member.
• Urgency to provide above-and-beyond customer service and problem-solving.
• Professionalism and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Provide admin and litigation support to attorneys handling insurance defense matters.
• Prepare, revise, proofread, and finalize legal documents and discovery.
• File documents electronically in state and federal courts.
• Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, depositions, and hearings.
• Coordinate service of pleadings and discovery materials.
• Organize and update physical and electronic case files.
• Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors.
• Assist with trial binders, exhibits, subpoenas, and hearing materials.
• Review emails, mail, and filings, and calendar deadlines.
• Support with document production and medical records.
