Job summary

gpac LLC. is seeking an Insurance Defense Associate Attorney to join a growing litigation team in Indiana.

The ideal candidate has experience in insurance defense or civil litigation, strong research and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases while collaborating with a team of professionals. Responsibilities include handling matters from initial evaluation to resolution, drafting pleadings and discovery, taking depositions, and supporting mediations, hearings and trials.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active Indiana Bar license in good standing.
• 2–5 years of litigation experience preferred.
• Insurance defense experience strongly preferred; candidates with civil litigation backgrounds may also be considered.
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities.
• Ability to independently manage cases while working collaboratively with a litigation team.

Responsibilities

• Handle insurance defense and general civil litigation matters from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and responses.
• Conduct legal research and develop effective defense strategies.
• Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Review evidence, evaluate liability and damages, and provide case recommendations.
• Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and expert witnesses.
• Manage deadlines, case files, and litigation calendars.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys on complex litigation matters.
