Job summary

PENA GARCIA & DIZ PLLC in Coral Gables, FL seeks a highly organized Legal Assistant to support three attorneys in our fast-paced insurance defense practice. You will manage case files, draft subpoenas, handle medical records requests, and coordinate scheduling with clients and courts.

Ideal candidates have proven legal assistant experience, familiarity with PerfectLaw or similar case management software, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask under pressure.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Legal Assistant (Insurance Defense preferred).
• Proficiency with PerfectLaw or similar case management software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong familiarity with legal procedures, terminology, and the court system.

Responsibilities

• Case & Document Management: prepare subpoenas, obtain medical records, organize case files.
• Scheduling & Docketing: schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and meetings.
• Deadline Tracking: calculate and track strict legal deadlines.
• Communication: serve as primary contact for clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel.
• Administrative Support: provide general office functions as needed.
