The ideal candidate has at least three years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense, with strong research, writing, advocacy, and case-management skills. The role involves managing defense matters from intake to resolution, drafting pleadings and discovery, taking and defending depositions, and representing clients in hearings and mediations.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state bar and in good standing.
• Active Ohio bar admission, or eligibility preferred.
• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense matters from intake through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, motion practice, hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Prepare discovery requests and responses.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
• Assist senior attorneys in case strategy development and implementation.
• Maintain organized case files and documentation.
• Adhere to ethical standards and professional conduct.
