Job summary

Ascendion is seeking an Insurance Defense Attorney to join a national defense firm. This remote role requires California admission and 2+ years of defense experience, with medmal, products, or premises liability exposure preferred.

You will manage caseloads from evaluation to resolution, perform legal research, draft pleadings and motions, and handle depositions. Salary ranges from $175,000 to $200,000 with full medical, dental, and PTO benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in insurance defense.
• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice law in California.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of insurance defense cases, from initial claim evaluation to final resolution.
• Conduct thorough legal and factual research, and develop effective defense strategies for clients.
• Draft various legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and briefs to support defense strategies.
• Handle written discovery, take and defend depositions, and prepare witnesses for these proceedings

• Previous experience in either; medmal, products liability, premises liability, etc.

The annual salary for this position is between 175k-200k. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
