This position offers the opportunity to work on complex insurance matters, including insurance litigation, risk assessment and analysis, and navigating intricate insurance issues ranging from first-party property claims to significant personal injury cases. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in maritime, energy, transportation, and general casualty litigation, as well as first- and third-party property litigation and insurance coverage matters. A strong understanding of the insurance industry is essential to effectively assist clients in resolving challenging insurance disputes.
Experience representing domestic and international insurers and reinsurers in both first-party and third-party matters throughout the United States is highly valued. Trial experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage a diverse caseload of insurance defense matters, providing legal counsel and representation to clients.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective case strategies.
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
- Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and other proceedings as necessary.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to achieve successful client outcomes.
- Stay current with legal developments and emerging trends in insurance defense and coverage law.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active membership and good standing with the Texas State Bar.
- Strong legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance coverage and the insurance industry.
- Experience representing domestic and international insurers and reinsurers in first-party and third-party matters across the United States.
