Job summary

Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Companies is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to act as a strategic partner across business stakeholders and technical teams. You will shape data products, manage BI solutions, and drive data governance in a hybrid, office-and-remote environment.

The role emphasizes advanced SQL, Power BI development, and collaboration with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and enterprise data teams to deliver accurate, actionable insights and scalable data assets.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in data/analytics, consulting, or related field within insurance.
• Experience identifying business problems and delivering data solutions for underwriting/claims.
• Ability to translate business needs into data/BI requirements.
• Strong communication skills for stakeholders and teams.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to clarify business problems and define success metrics.
• Translate insurance needs into implementation-ready data requirements and mappings.
• Profile data and validate logic using SQL; investigate anomalies and ensure data quality.
• Own the Power BI lifecycle: requirements, design, dashboards, validation, deployment.
• Lead analytics efforts to identify trends and risk, enabling data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with data engineering on data models and semantic layers.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts, promoting best practices in BI.
