Job summary

Lincare Holdings is seeking an Insurance Eligibility Specialist in Daytona Beach, FL. This role manages the Insurance Eligibility Queue to determine if a patient's insurance terms cover the required DME equipment and related expenses.

You will work closely with patients and insurers, performing data entry and benefit updates with strong customer service. Responsibilities include calling insurers to verify coverage, communicating outcome to patients, and ensuring accurate insurance records.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years experience working with patient billing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify if patient insurance covers required DME equipment and verify coverage.
• Contact insurance companies to verify coverage levels, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
• Enter data accurately and update patient benefit information in the insurance system.
• Spend extensive time on the phone with insurance companies and/or patients.
• Provide excellent customer service and work well with others.

Job description

This employee works the company's Insurance Eligibility Queue, which identifies when a patient's insurance has termed, as well as any issues with insurance.

• Works to ensure that the patient's health care benefits cover the required DME equipment
• Required to contact a patient's insurance company to verify coverage levels, deductibles, and out of pocked expenses for DME coverage
• Working directly with our patients may be required
• excellent customer service is a must
• Enter data in an accurate manner
• Update patient benefit information in the insurance system and verify the existing information is accurate
• Requires the specialist to spend extensive amounts of time on the phone with insurance companies and/or patients

• Prior experience working with insurance companies preferred
• Extensive knowledge of different types of coverage and policies
• Excellent multitasking skills
• Must be detail-oriented and organized to maintain accurate patient insurance records
• Must have the ability to focus and work quickly
• Must work well with others

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 1--2 years experience working with patient billing preferred
