Active Consulting Services LLC in New York, NY, seeks a Commercial Litigation Associate with 3+ years of experience in insurance coverage, construction, and complex matters. The role offers meaningful responsibility and direct client interaction.

You will work with senior coverage attorneys on sophisticated disputes, develop litigation strategies, and mentor junior lawyers while engaging across offices in a global practice. Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active admission to the Florida Bar; admission to additional jurisdictions is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in insurance coverage, commercial litigation, construction litigation, or similarly complex matters.
• Strong legal writing, research, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Experience with pleadings, depositions, discovery, and motion practice.
• Appellate briefing experience is a plus.
• Construction defect, risk transfer, or construction insurance experience is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Analyze complex insurance coverage issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and coverage-related advocacy materials.
• Conduct and defend depositions.
• Handle written discovery and motion practice.
• Participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Develop litigation and coverage strategies with clients and senior attorneys.
• Mentor junior attorneys and collaborate across offices.
