Location: Hybrid in Southfield, Michigan, conveniently located near Detroit. Tuesday and Thursday are team-wide in-office days.
Note: Candidates must be licensed to practice law in Michigan and have at least 3+ years of directly relevant insurance coverage experience. We strongly prefer 5+ years, but will consider attorneys with 3+ years depending on the nature of their work and level of independence.

Job Description
- Handle insurance coverage matters with increasing ownership and independence
- Analyze statutes, case law, regulations, and other legal authorities relevant to client matters
- Conduct detailed legal research and prepare clear written analysis
- Draft memoranda, pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents as appropriate to assigned matters
- Provide practical legal analysis that supports client decision-making and case strategy
- Participate in discovery and case preparation when matters involve litigation
- Assist with and participate in negotiations, mediations, court appearances, and other advocacy responsibilities as appropriate
- Manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines and maintaining careful attention to detail
- Communicate directly and professionally with insurance carriers, corporate clients, and risk management professionals
- Collaborate closely with partners and other attorneys to deliver responsive, high-quality legal service
- Take on increasing responsibility as experience and demonstrated independence grow
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active Michigan law license
- 3+ years of directly relevant insurance coverage experience
- 5+ years of experience strongly preferred
- Strong legal research and analytical skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to provide clear, practical legal advice
- Effective negotiation and advocacy skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Professional and polished client-facing presence
- Collaborative, coachable, self-aware, and receptive to feedback
- Demonstrated ability to assume increasing responsibility
