Insurance Coverage Attorney – New York City (Hybrid)

We’re currently working with a well-established national defense litigation firm that is looking to add an Insurance Coverage Attorney to its New York City office.

The Opportunity

The firm’s New York office is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney with at least 1 year of experience in litigation. While prior insurance coverage experience is a plus, it’s not required—what matters most is a strong legal acumen, attention to detail, and the desire to build a long-term practice in this area.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle insurance coverage matters from inception through resolution

- Draft coverage opinions, correspondence, and briefing in coverage disputes

- Analyze complex policy language and legal issues

- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to develop effective litigation strategies

- Maintain responsiveness and high-quality service for a diverse client base

- Meet court and internal deadlines efficiently

Candidate Requirements

- JD from an accredited U.S. law school

- Admission to practice in New York (mandatory)

- 1+ years of litigation experience (insurance coverage preferred)

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Judicial clerkship and/or federal court experience considered a plus

- Base salary range of $115,000 – $160,000, depending on experience

- Performance-based bonus opportunities
