You will analyze policies, conduct coverage research, and collaborate with experienced trial lawyers on high-stakes cases. California bar in good standing is required, with 2+ years’ relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar license and good standing in CA.
• 2+ years of insurance coverage or insurance bad faith litigation experience.
• Strong knowledge of California insurance law and procedures.
• Familiarity with FRCP and CA CCP in practice.
• Experience handling first- and/or third-party insurance claims and coverage analysis.
• Solid legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

• Draft and respond to pleadings, discovery, and dispositive motions in state and federal court.
• Analyze insurance policies, claims files, and adjuster conduct to identify bad faith exposure.
• Conduct and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, underwriters, and expert witnesses.
• Participate in hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
• Research California insurance law and coverage issues to develop strategy.
• Collaborate with attorneys, experts, and litigation support professionals.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and co-counsel.
• Manage deadlines and multiple active matters in a fast-paced environment.
