Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking a qualified Insurance Coverage Attorney in Chicago to join a sophisticated first-party property coverage practice. You will analyze complex coverage issues, draft opinions, and guide strategy from pre-suit analysis through litigation.

The role requires an active Illinois Bar license, 1+ year of coverage experience, and a collaborative, growth‑minded team environment with mentorship and advancement opportunities. Hybrid schedule offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of insurance coverage experience
• Active Illinois Bar license in good standing
• JD from an accredited law school
• Experience with insurance policy analysis and coverage issues
• First-party property insurance experience preferred
• Coverage opinion, pleading, motion, deposition, or mediation experience preferred
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and time-management abilities

Responsibilities

• Analyze insurance policies and complex first-party property coverage issues
• Prepare coverage opinions and provide strategic advice to insurance clients
• Handle insurance coverage matters from pre-suit analysis through litigation and resolution
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents
• Participate in depositions, mediations, hearings, and other litigation proceedings
• Assist with examinations under oath and claim investigations as appropriate
• Conduct legal research involving insurance coverage and related litigation issues
• Develop case strategy and communicate recommendations clearly to clients
• Manage multiple active matters, deadlines, and urgent client requests
• Collaborate with experienced coverage attorneys on sophisticated property insurance disputes

Pay: $150,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year

Location

Note
