• Interpret contract benefits to policyholders, agents, and providers.
• Provide claim status to policyholders or providers.
• Send out refund request letters and follow-up as necessary.
• Produce correspondence to customers.
• Answer calls in a helpful, professional, timely manner.
• Place outgoing calls as needed to provide or obtain information.
• Document all calls in progress.
• Transfer calls to other departments as required.
• Fully document policy files or imaging system for audit trail.
• Participate in cross training to maximize team efficiency.
• Communicate issues identified in claims processing to the appropriate people.
• Maintain contacts with policyholders, providers, agents, attorneys, and other carriers with a positive approach.
