Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an Entry Level Medical Billing Specialist for a contract role based in Tigard, OR. The position requires 2+ years of billing experience (Medicare, MVA, Workers' Comp) and strong CPT/ICD-10-CM coding knowledge.

This hybrid role offers $25.00–$27.00 per hour and benefits. As part of a fast-paced billing team, you will verify insurance, submit claims, and follow up on denials while ensuring compliance and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred in healthcare administration, medical billing, or related field.
• 2+ years of medical billing experience, including Medicare, MVA, and Workers' Compensation claims.
• Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS coding and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit clean claims to Medicare, MVA, Workers' Compensation and other payers.
• Follow up on unpaid/denied/late claims to maximize reimbursement and resolve balances.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service for eligibility and billing accuracy.
• Document all billing activities, claim statuses and payer communications.
• Stay current with billing regulations and coding updates to ensure compliance.
