Qualifications

• 2+ years of medical collections/billing experience.
• Proficient in ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS and NCCI guidelines.
• Working knowledge of health information systems (EMR, claim scrubbers, patient accounting).

Responsibilities

• Verify patient, billing and claim information for accuracy in hospital/physician systems.
• Submit primary/secondary/tertiary and rebill claims electronically, on paper, or via portals.
• Edit claims to meet billing guidelines for electronic and hardcopy submission.
• Respond promptly to emails and phone messages.
• Escalate payer/system issues to management and collaborate on resolution.
• Attend meetings, trainings and in-services to grow job knowledge.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information per policy.
• Monitor claims for missing data, authorization, and control numbers (ICN/DCN).
• Resolve and research billing rejections.
