Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred.
• Minimum 6 months related experience; 3 years for Insurance Authorization Verification Specialist II.
• Experience navigating benefits for procedures preferred.
• Experience with Epic is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Verifies insurance policy benefits for new and returning patients.
• Obtains Authorization/Precertification prior to visit or soon after admission.
• Documents all pertinent insurance information and referrals.
• Educates patients and families on insurance issues.
• Communicates patient’s financial responsibility professionally.
• Notifies work units of patient’s insurance coverage or status.
