Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking a Senior Insurance Verifier to obtain and record eligibility and benefit information for patients, and to initiate admission notifications and authorizations in a timely manner.

The role requires strong communication with patients, physicians, and payers, familiarity with EPIC or similar EHRs, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Three years of insurance verification experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Proficient in English with strong communication and customer service skills.
• Experience using electronic health record systems (EPIC preferred) and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Promotes accurate eligibility and benefit recording for patients and documents in the system.
• Initiates authorization and pre-certification processes for services as needed.
• Communicates with patients, physicians, and payers to resolve access and financial clearance issues.
• Supports scheduling and clinical teams to ensure timely patient flow and financial clearance.
• Trains and mentors new team members as needed.
