LifeBridge Health, a leading health system in Maryland, is seeking a Billing Coordinator to join our Owings Mills Corporate Headquarters. You will coordinate daily billing activities, verify benefits, and liaise with physicians and payers to optimize reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of medical insurance authorization or medical billing experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily revenue cycle activities to optimize reimbursement.
• Collaborate with intradepartmental administration, physicians and interdepartmental representatives to support established policies and procedures.
• Meets with patients requiring financial counseling. Verifies benefit coverage to determine patient financial liability.
• Communicates, via written notification, patient financial responsibility.
• May initiate patient payment plans in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Works proactively and collaboratively to investigate and resolve patient billing issues.
• Provides documentation requested by third party payers to enhance reimbursement opportunities.
• May perform patient registration and appointment scheduling.
• Processes sliding fee applications.

Education

About the Role:

Coordinates the daily billing activities of assigned department, works independently to maintain consistent workflow of all billing activities, and serves as a liaison between the Professional Billing Office, physicians and third party payers.

Requirements:

Experience: 1 to 3 years of medical insurance authorization or medical billing experience

Pay Range: $18.17 to $30.09 Based On Experience
