Job summary

Shannon Health in Texas is seeking an Insurance Authorization/Patient Registration Specialist to perform clerical and office tasks, register and pre-register patients, schedule ancillary procedures, and assist patients with insurance questions.

Under general supervision, you will obtain authorizations, referrals, and handle account payment questions, as well as collections for services. This role supports hospital and office procedures and contributes to a smooth patient experience.

Qualifications

• One or more years of Clerical or Office experience required.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology preferred.
• One or more years of Medical Billing/Insurance Authorization experience preferred.
• One or more years of cash handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register and pre-register patients and schedule ancillary procedures.
• Assist patients and guarantors with insurance questions.
• Obtain authorizations and referrals; handle account payment questions.
• Assist with collections for services as needed.
