Job summary

Thrivent is seeking an Insurance Associate to support Wisconsin Heartland Associates and Financial Advisors in fixed life, annuities and health insurance. You will respond to members’ inquiries, help prepare applications, and assist in marketing plans to grow member relationships.

You will present seminars, advise members on product options, and collaborate with advisors on changes, while maintaining confidentiality and licensure compliance. Base salary is $36,000 plus commissions.

Qualifications

• Prior administrative/secretarial experience preferred.
• Must be insurance licensed/appointed in all states where duties occur.
• Willing to complete state training to sell Long Term Care if required.
• Demonstrated customer service orientation; 2+ years preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with high quality amid interruptions.
• Maintain integrity of sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Handle sensitive communications with members, which may include highly confidential information and effectively respond through verbal and written communications to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction
• Facilitate and/or co-present insurance product specific seminars and/or workshops as necessary
• Participate in business planning for the practice as needed
• Counsel and advise prospective and current members on particular insurance products and policies for purchase
• Open and complete insurance product applications
• Obtain member financial information for the sale of fixed insurance, fixed annuity and health products
• Explain, discuss or interpret insurance coverage; analyze exposures or policies; provide recommendations
• Issue certificates of insurance, endorsements, binders, commitments, or insurance contracts
• Assist Financial Advisors in the preparation and follow up for the client/member meetings
• Collaborate with Financial Advisors to assist members with fixed insurance, fixed annuity or health product changes
• Participate and drive marketing services including direct-mail, fraternal activities, seminars, meetings
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned in accordance with licensure and business needs
