Job summary

Horace Mann is seeking an Exclusive Agent to grow a defined territory, focusing on affordable insurance and financial services for educators. You will own client relationships and build a compliant, thriving business.

This hands-on role offers a 1099 compensation model, access to a comprehensive product portfolio, and support from a dedicated service representative, technology tools, and ongoing training to scale your operation.

Qualifications

• Licensed to sell Life and Health Insurance in the applicable state.
• Licensed to sell Property and Casualty Insurance where required.
• FINRA Series 6 & 63 licenses may be needed depending on region.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop educator clients for affordable insurance solutions and financial security.
• Build and manage an exclusive territory with proactive client outreach.
• Present products to both groups and individuals and close sales.
• Network through community and industry events to grow the business.
• Invest time/resources to ensure long-term business success.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal and business management skills to build and manage your agency
• 2-5 years of experience in the insurance and financial services industry (preferred)
• Resident State General Lines Insurance Licenses:
• Life and Health Insurance License
• Property and Casualty Insurance License
• Ability to obtain FINRA Series 6 & 63 licenses (if applicable in your region)
