The Gulf Coast Industrial insulator will apply, remove, and repair insulating material to surfaces such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings to help control noise and maintain temperatures. Other duties may be assigned.

Duties include measuring and cutting insulation, fitting it around structures according to blueprints, and sealing with covers or tape while identifying hazards and communicating them.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial insulation including installation, removal and repair.
• Willing and able to perform physical work including lifting, climbing, crawling and outdoor work.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Knowledge of safe work practices.

Responsabilités

• Measure, cut, and fit insulation material to specified size and shape using measuring devices and handsaw/knife/scissors.

Job Summary

The Insulator will apply, remove, and repair insulating material to exposed surfaces or structures, such as air ducts, hot or cold pipes, storage tanks, boilers, and buildings to help control noise and maintain temperatures. Other duties may be assigned.

• Work at heights with no fear.
• Brush adhesives on or attach metal adhesive application to insulation material.
• Determine the amounts and select required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form), such as fiberglass, foam rubber, Styrofoam, cork, and urethane based on material's ability to retain heat, location, surface, shape, and equipment use.
• Using tape measures or other measuring devices, measure and cut insulation material to specified size and shape for covering flat or round surfaces, using handsaw, knife, or scissors.
• Fit, wrap, or attach required insulation material around or to structure, following blueprint specifications.
• Cover or seal insulation with performed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape to secure insulation to the structure - according to the type of insulation used and structure covered, using staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun.
• Proactively identify any unsafe conditions or hazards and communicate them effectively

Requirements and Education

• The insulator must be highly productive and experienced in all phases of industrial insulation including installation, repair, and removal.
• Must be willing and able to perform physical activities including heavy lifting, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Must have knowledge of safe work practices.
