Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Helper to read, interpret, and apply insulation on equipment, pipes, and tanks. The role requires reading instructions and blueprints, selecting appropriate insulation materials, and preparing surfaces for insulation application in a safety-conscious environment.

Preferred minimum of 6 months field experience, ability to read plans, and compliance with hazardous waste guidelines are essential.

Qualifications

• Preferred minimum of 6 months documented field experience in chosen craft discipline.
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and documentation.
• Must have strong reading comprehension of blueprints and plans.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blueprints, instructions, and other documentation or plan work activities.
• Determines the amounts and selects required insulation material based on heat retention, location, and equipment use.
• Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up the work site.
• Covers or seals insulation with plastic covers, sealant, or tape to secure insulation.
• Follows hazardous waste guidelines and safety procedures; may remove asbestos insulation.
• Completes records, maintains tools, and performs clean-up.
