Job summary

Brown & Root Industrial Services is seeking a Journeyman with documented field experience to insulate equipment, pipes, and tanks. Reading blueprints and planning work independently are essential as you select materials and install insulation to control temperatures and noise.

The role requires routine measurement and cutting, safe handling of materials, and adherence to hazardous waste guidelines. A high school diploma and NCCER certification are preferred or required depending on project

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent may be required.
• NCCER certifications may be required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reads and interprets blue prints, instructions, and other documentation or plan work activities.
• Determines the amounts and selects required insulation material (in sheet, tubular, or roll form).
• Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site.
• Covers or seals insulation with preformed covers, tape, or sealant to secure insulation.
• Installs sheet metal around insulated pipes to protect insulation from weather or damage.
• Measures and cuts insulation for surfaces using basic hand tools.
• Prepares surfaces for insulation application with adhesives or cement.
• Follows hazardous waste handling guidelines and safety procedures.
• Completes records, maintains tools and equipment, and performs cleanup.
• Observes safety and project rules.
