Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking an Instrumentation Technician for the Speaks Station site in Hallettsville, TX. The role focuses on testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting meters, regulators, valves, RTUs, and related instrumentation, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

This 12-month assignment requires an associate degree or equivalent experience, 2 years of relevant training, and solid communication skills. The position offers competitive hourly pay and benefits; CDL is required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant technical field or equivalent education/experience.
• Two years of directly relevant training and experience.
• Must demonstrate a detailed understanding of Safety Policies and Procedures and act accordingly.
• Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, and/or experience.
• Communicate verbally and in writing to collect and relay basic facts.
• Willing to assist with more complex tasks, equipment and procedures.
• Proficient in the use of standard office software applications.
• Work in a team environment where inclusiveness, integrity, honesty, and openness are valued.

Responsibilities

• Test, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot meters, pressure regulators, control valves, relief valves, pneumatic control devices, RTUs, EGM systems, and gas analyzers.
• Perform routine maintenance on an odorizer, set injection rates, and report usage and concentration.
• Operate and maintain power supply systems.
• Identify pipe, valves, and fittings using measurement devices.
• Ensure electrical installations meet applicable codes and standards.
• Install small diameter instrument piping and tubing.
• Use test and inspection equipment to verify and calibrate instruments.
• Operate and maintain in-line heaters.
• Perform basic tests and inspections.
• Complete reports completely.
• Write gas handling procedures.
• On occasion, direct other employees in routine measurement-related activities.
• Help plan work and contribute to budget-related information.
• Perform other duties as required.
