Optimized Process Designs (OPD) headquartered in Katy, TX, is seeking an Instrumentation Lead to direct specification and procurement of instrumentation across EPC projects, from early development to commissioning and turnover.

Based at our Katy, TX headquarters, the role focuses on SPI expertise, vendor coordination, and ensuring instrumentation readiness through project lifecycle. This role collaborates across disciplines to meet project goals and standards.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in engineering or technology.
• Experience with EPC project flow in refinery, chemical, power plant or midstream industries.
• Working knowledge of API, PIP, ASME, ISA, etc.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Instrumentation scope throughout the project lifecycle, from development through commissioning and turnover.
• Develop, review, and markup P&IDs to ensure compliance with standards while maintaining SPI documentation.
• Own the specification, selection and procurement of instrumentation (control valves, regulators, flowmeters, and sensors).
• Collaborate with vendors and procurement to obtain quotations, evaluate bids, issue purchase orders, and ensure timely delivery.
• Review equipment packages and installation requirements for compliance and constructability.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning teams to remove barriers.
