Job summary

Phillips 66 Borger Refinery is offering an Instrument Intern position within the Craft Student Internship Program. You will shadow experienced staff, assist with repairs, and learn instrumentation and PLC concepts while balancing class schedules.

Starting in March 2027, you will work part‑time through Spring/Summer/Fall semesters with supervision to fit your educational obligations. A required online assessment must be completed after applying.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Enrolled in Instrumentation or Electrical Associate’s or Bachelor's Degree Program.
• Able to perform/comply with safety and physical requirements.
• Able to read English at a technical level.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and support experienced employees while following all safety, health, environmental, maintenance, and operation practices.
• Assist repairs, troubleshoot, and maintain refinery instrumentation and control systems.
• Learn about health, safety and environmental hazards and the permit system.
• Learn to operate Distributive Control Systems and programmable logic controllers.
• Communicate effectively with all levels of the team and document activities.
