Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, is seeking a motivated Instrumentation Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Katy, TX. You will support instrumentation design, procurement, and project execution across EPC projects for natural gas and gas liquids processing facilities.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline.
• Eligible for full-time employment on or before Summer 2028.
• Eligible to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or via sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Support a safety-first culture and comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Assist in the development of instrument datasheets for various Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Level field instruments
• Participate in the preparation and review of P&IDs and instrument indexes.
• Assist with instrumentation procurement activities, including requisition creation, technical bid evaluations, vendor communication and purchase order issuance
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to coordinate design efforts and resolve technical issues
• Participate in engineering and design project meetings and attend various vendor workshops and Lunch n Learns
• Support project deliverables, documentation and reporting
• Opportunity to participate in site visits during construction and commissioning
