Job summary

Optimized Process Designs (OPD), a Koch Engineered Solutions company, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 in Katy, TX. You will support civil/structural design for EPC projects in natural gas and petrochemical sectors under senior engineers.

You’ll gain hands-on experience across design through construction, with site visits, and exposure to foundations, steel supports, pipe racks, and EH&S practices while developing technical and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
Eligible for full-time employment by Summer 2028.
U.S. work authorization without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Support and contribute to civil and structural design for EPC projects.
Develop designs for steel supports, pipe racks, foundations.
Review project documentation.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
Participate in design coordination meetings and document discussions.
Possibility of site visits to observe drawings and field installations.
Learn foundation design for equipment like vessels, pumps, and compressors; follow EH&S practices.
