Job summary

Axionova Engineering Limited in Los Angeles is seeking an experienced Instrumentation Engineer to design, procure, and implement advanced instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes.

You will specify components, lead procurement, develop schematics and PLC/DCS/SCADA programs, collaborate with project teams, ensure compliance with ISA/IEC/NEC, and mentor junior engineers while advancing diverse, high-impact projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5+ years in instrumentation and control systems design, implementation, and analysis.
  • Experience with pumps, motors, and valves is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in CAD for control-system schematics and layouts.
  • PE license is preferred; strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design, procure, and implement instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes.
  • Lead procurement for instrumentation components and negotiate terms.
  • Create detailed schematics and layouts using CAD; develop PLC/DCS/SCADA software.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and budget adherence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instrumentation Design and Development:
    • Design, develop, and test instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes.
    • Specify and select components such as controllers, transmitters, sensors, and actuators to ensure optimal performance.
  • Procurement Oversight:
    • Lead the procurement process for instrumentation and control components, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
    • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to evaluate options and negotiate terms.
  • Control System Implementation:
    • Create detailed schematics, diagrams, and layouts using CAD software for control systems.
    • Develop and implement control strategies through PLC programming, DCS programming, or SCADA systems.
  • Collaboration and Project Management:
    • Work closely with project managers, clients, and cross-functional teams to ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed projects.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
    • Review and approve design documents, including specifications, calculations, and drawings.
    • Ensure all systems adhere to relevant codes, standards, and regulations such as ISA, IEC, and NEC.
  • Technical Support and Leadership:
    • Provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering knowledge-sharing and skill development.
    • Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in instrumentation and control technologies.
Requirements
  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience:
