Job summary

Austin Industries, Inc. is seeking an Instrument Technician to test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair controlling, indicating and measuring instrument devices to ensure specified operating performance.

You will read manuals, blueprints, schematics and testing specifications, and have knowledge of electrical schematics and PLCs. You will assemble and disassemble electronic process, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, calibrate equipment, understand pH, redox, Ohm’s and Kirchhoff’s laws,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an oil and gas instrumentation role with QA/QC exposure.
• Knowledge of BS/IEC/ISO/API/ATEX/EEMUA codes and safety standards.
• Experience with hazardous area installation and instrument calibration.

Responsibilities

• Test, calibrate, troubleshoot, overhaul and repair instrument devices.
• Read blueprints, schematics and loop drawings; prepare reports.
• Assemble/disassemble electronic process, pneumatic and hydraulic controls.
• Calibrate equipment using standard procedures; read and apply guidelines.
• Understand pH, redox, Ohm’s/Kirchhoff’s laws; manage related measurements.
• Perform loop checks; verify tests and inspections; update drawings.
• Maintain QA/QC records and license requirements.
