Job summary

Luminant Power LLC in Texas seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to perform operations, preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment under site management guidance. You will inspect transmitters, valves, controllers, and electrical systems; troubleshoot DCS/PLC/HMI and motors; support outages and commissioning; ensure safe, reliable plant operation.

Qualifications

• High School education or GED equivalent required.
• One year as I&C or two years related work experience.
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.
• Must possess basic math skills, good verbal communications skills, and be proficient with the use of power and precision tools.
• Must have knowledge of Safety and Environment rules as they relate to electrical maintenance.
• Must provide positive influence to the maintenance, operations, and management team.
• Working knowledge of CMMS. Familiarity with Maximo preferred.
• Additional experience with machinery repair and control systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, calibrate, test, and maintain pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters, switches, gauges, and sensors.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, electronic, and digital instrumentation.
• Maintain and troubleshoot Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMI), and associated control equipment.
• Test and maintain control valves, positioners, actuators, solenoids, and associated instrumentation.
• Verify instrument loops, control logic, alarms, interlocks, permissive, and shutdown systems.
• Maintain and troubleshoot boiler controls, turbine controls, combustion controls, burner management systems, and plant auxiliary systems as applicable.
• Perform loop checks, functional tests, signal verification, and instrument calibration using appropriate test equipment.
• Review and update instrument calibration records, loop drawings, wiring diagrams, and control documentation.
