Job summary

Worley is seeking an Undergraduate Instrumentation Engineer intern to join our Reading/Wyomissing team. You will assist with instrumentation and controls deliverables for power projects, under guidance from experienced engineers.

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Controls/Instrumentation engineering, you’ll gain hands-on experience with data sheets, control narratives, and diagrams while learning industry standards and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in electrical/controls/instrumentation engineering.
  • Basic proficiency with Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Must be able to work in the Reading/Wyomissing PA office.
  • Interest in instrumentation and power infrastructure.
  • Exposure to PLCs, DCS, HMIs, sensors, transmitters.
  • Previous internship or project experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and revision of instrumentation and controls engineering deliverables for Power Generation and Power Networks projects.
  • Assist with instrument data sheets, control narratives, input/output lists, instrument indexes, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and related documentation.
  • Help review drawings, specifications, vendor information, and project documentation for accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform basic engineering calculations, data collection, and technical research under guidance of senior engineers.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination with electrical, mechanical, process, and project teams.
  • Support the organization and maintenance of engineering files, calculations, drawings, and project records.
  • Learn and apply applicable industry codes, standards, client requirements, and company procedures.
  • Communicate progress, questions, and technical observations clearly and professionally.
  • Follow health, safety, environmental, and quality expectations in all assigned work.
