Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls Superintendent to lead field operations on water and wastewater projects. You will direct I&C and Low Voltage installation through commissioning, coordinating with subs, owners, and commissioning agents to meet schedule and quality goals.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in construction, deep knowledge of codes, and a proven ability to mentor staff and manage large teams on complex projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years' of experience in construction with focus on Instrumentation and Controls and Low Voltage coordination.
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing and low-voltage systems, including commissioning.
• Understanding of Building, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing codes as they relate to construction.
• Experience managing I&C and Low Voltage subcontracts and relationships.
• Ability to work in a large team with a problem-solving, project-first mentality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage commissioning schedules for Instrumentation, Controls and Low Voltage systems.
• Review documents and suggest changes related to I&C and Low Voltage commissioning.
• Liaise with commissioning agents, owners, and subs to ensure on-schedule commissioning.
• Assist scheduling with detailed CPM schedules for start-up, BMS controls, and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate logistics and temporary facilities for subcontractors.
• Review submittals and approve materials for I&C and Low Voltage systems.
• Monitor installation, start-up, and commissioning with engineers and owners' reps.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and field staff on progress and procurement.
• Represent McCarthy at project meetings for I&C and Low Voltage concerns.
• Mentor and develop I&C and Low Voltage staff as applicable.
