Job summary

Targa Resources is seeking an Electrical Engineer – Instrumentation and Controls to design, implement, and support instrumentation and automation for midstream facilities and large capital projects. You will serve as the technical lead on I&C scopes, develop deliverables, and collaborate with project teams to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective automation solutions throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Engineering or technical degree from a two- or four-year university with 3–5 years of related experience.
Proficiency in NFPA, ISA, API, and OSHA codes for instrumentation and process control.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Ability and willingness to travel at least 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for instrumentation, controls, and automation systems, including troubleshooting and maintenance help.
Serve as technical lead for I&C scope on major projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Develop and review instrumentation and control system deliverables (SIS/PCS/ESD, narratives, specs).
Coordinate I&C engineering work by third-party contractors and oversee FAT/SAT activities.
Develop, maintain, and support PLC programming for plant systems and long-term operation.
