Job summary

Vanderweil Engineers Llp in Boston seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll design PLC/DCS systems, develop P&ID diagrams, specify instrumentation, and coordinate with mechanical/electrical trades.

Requirements include a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 6+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Access, AutoCAD and Revit is expected. We offer a hybrid work model and a competitive compensation range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering is required.
• 6+ years of experience in instrumentation and controls.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Access.
• AutoCAD and Revit experience.
• Experience with I&C systems for power generation, grid-scale battery storage, electrical distribution, and process control.

Responsibilities

• Piping and Instrumentation Diagram interpretation and development.
• Instrumentation selection and specification.
• Interpret and develop panel wiring diagrams and relay logic controls.
• Coordinate with mechanical and electrical trades.

• Witness FAT (Factory Acceptance Tests).
• Existing system assessment and I&C upgrades.
• System start-up and commissioning (a bonus).

We are currently seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our growing team in our Boston office.

Some of your Responsibilities include:

• PLC and/or DCS based control system design and engineering,
• Control system component specifications,
• Piping and Instrumentation Diagram interpretation and development,
• Instrumentation selection and specification,
• Interpret and develop panel wiring diagrams and relay logic controls.
• Coordinate with mechanical and electrical trades,
• Review of System Integrator and equipment submittal drawings,
• Witness factory acceptance tests (FAT),
• Existing system assessment and I & C system upgrade projects.
• System start–up and commissioning a bonus.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering required
• 6 plus years’ experience
• Proficient in computer use and software including, but not limited to: Excel, Word, Power Point, Project and Access. Capable in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with I & C systems supporting Power Generation, Grid Scale Battery Storage, Electrical distribution infrastructure and Industrial process control for process manufacturing.

The total compensation that we expect to pay for this position is dependent on years of experience, licensure, education, geographic location, and project portfolio but is expected to be in the $125,000 to $165,000 range.
