ManpowerGroup is seeking an Instrument Technician for a leading environmental services organization in Oak Creek, WI. The role supports wastewater treatment plant instrumentation and control systems, with a focus on troubleshooting and safety.

The ideal candidate has an Associate Degree in Electronics Technology and 1–3 years of related experience, with knowledge of PLCs, DCS, P&IDs, and schematics. This is a full-time, direct-hire position with a stable first-shift schedule and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Electronics Technology is required.
• 1–3 years of experience in electronics, instrumentation, controls, or a related technical field.
• Experience with digital/analog electronics, instrumentation calibration, PLCs, DCS, and process controls.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul instrumentation for wastewater treatment processes.
• Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems including PLCs and DCS.
• Use test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, calibration devices) to support instrumentation and controls.
• Collaborate with engineers and vendors to install, start up, test, and modify control systems.
• Maintain maintenance records and ensure safety regulations and procedures compliance.

As an Instrument Technician, you will be part of the Operations & Maintenance team supporting wastewater treatment plant instrumentation and control systems. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Instrument Technician

Job Type: Fulltime | Direct Hire

Location: Oak Creek, WI

Pay Range: $30-$40/hour (Based on Experience)

What’s the Job?

• Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul instrumentation used to monitor and control wastewater treatment processes.
• Diagnose and repair electronic, mechanical, and pneumatic control systems, including PLCs, DCS, and microprocessor-based equipment.
• Utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and calibration devices to support process instrumentation and controls.
• Collaborate with engineers and vendors to install, start up, test, and modify new and existing control systems.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, update operating documentation, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and procedures.

What’s Needed?

• Associate Degree in Electronics Technology from an accredited technical college or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in electronics, instrumentation, controls, or a related technical field.
• Working knowledge of digital and analog electronics, instrumentation calibration, PLCs, DCS systems, and process controls.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams).
• Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License and ability to work in industrial environments, including confined spaces, heights, hazardous environments, and varying weather conditions.
