  • Prior experience in surgical instrument repair, biomedical equipment, or a related technical field preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in instrumentation, mechanics, or biomedical technology is a plus.

Role Description

The Instrument Technician contract role is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining surgical instruments to ensure they perform safely and reliably. On a day-to-day basis, the technician will perform detailed assessments, complete calibrations and adjustments, carry out preventive maintenance, and document all work performed according to company and facility standards. The role includes traveling to healthcare facilities for on-site service within the Rio Grande Valley, coordinating with clinical and sterile processing staff, and occasionally providing guidance on proper instrument handling and care. This is a hybrid role, with core responsibilities carried out at customer locations and some tasks, such as documentation, reporting, and scheduling, performed from home. The technician will follow established repair processes, adhere to safety and infection control protocols, and support timely turnaround for instruments needed in surgical procedures.
