Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of biomedical technician experience.

Job Summary

As a Field Service Technician, you will install, troubleshoot, repair, and verify the performance of complex biomedical systems with minimal supervision. You’ll also serve as a technical advisor to clinical and administrative staff on safe equipment usage and help evaluate new device acquisitions.

This role offers unmatched exposure across the biotech, med-tech, pharmaceutical, and healthcare sectors. You’ll perform certification, performance testing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment directly at customer facilities. Most importantly, technicians serve as the face of our company. Qualifications and Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair equipment issues to minimize downtime and keep customer operations running smoothly.
  • Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on highly complex and intricate biomedical equipment and systems
  • Repair, install, and calibrate highly complex and intricate biomedical equipment and systems
  • Inform supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and any customer concerns
  • Maintain biomedical expertise through ongoing training and education
  • Lead Service Operations Special Projects as assigned. Travel to sites and\or work with other Central Office associates as necessary for the collection and analysis of information and\or data pertaining to any special assignments
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include the inventory, performance assurance schedules, nomenclature, and service history
  • Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures
  • Responsible for ensuring all service and documentation is complete, timely, and accurate
  • Build and maintain customer relationships and discuss equipment status and functionality with clinicians
  • Serve as an ambassador for Scientific Safety Alliance by integrating the core values into job performance
  • Identify potential risks, equipment failures, or environmental concerns and proactively recommend corrective or preventive actions.

  • Support teammates by sharing insights, best practices, and field learnings that strengthen performance across the organization.
  • Protect company assets, tools, vehicles, and equipment while following strict safety, quality, and calibration standards.

  • Act as a trusted advisor by educating customers on proper equipment use, maintenance schedules, regulatory expectations, and lifecycle planning.

  • Deliver accurate, compliant performance testing and certifications with a documented error rate of <1%.
  • Consistently meet daily/weekly productivity expectations by efficiently servicing customers.
  • Maintain 100% on-time and complete service reports, documentation, and regulatory records.
  • Achieve high customer satisfaction scores (NPS, feedback, renewals, referrals) through exceptional service and communication.
  • Resolve equipment issues through effective troubleshooting while minimizing customer downtime.
  • Uphold company safety, quality, calibration, and compliance standards on every job site.
  • Demonstrate autonomy and strong time management by effectively planning routes, schedules, and priorities.
