Job summary

Northside Hospital in Georgia is looking for an Instrument Technician to disinfect, sterilize, and assemble surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment used in our operating rooms and sterile processing areas. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED (or higher) and at least one year of Instrument Technician experience.

Preferred certifications include CRCST/CSPDT, CSPDT, or CASSPT, with GI labs CFER acceptable; color vision may be required depending on unit.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or post-secondary education.
• 1 year of experience as an Instrument Technician.
• Preferred: Central Service Technician Certification (CRCST, CSPDT, CSPDT or CASSPT); GI Labs CFER acceptable; color vision as required.

Disinfects, sterilizes, and assembles surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment. Position is characterized by the ability to recognize surgical instruments and surgical instrument trays typically assembled in applicable area.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

• High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education.
• One (1) year experience as an Instrument Technician

PREFERRED

• Central Service Technician Certification:
• Inpatient sterile processing CRCST or CSPDT certification.
• Outpatient sterile processing CRCST, CSPDT or CASSPT certification.
• For GI Labs, CFER is acceptable.
• Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units
