Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta is seeking an Instrument Technician to disinfect, sterilize, and assemble surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of instrument technician experience; CSPST/CSPDT certifications are preferred for advancement, with CRCST, CSPDT, CSPER and CASSPT options noted for various pathways.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education.
• One year experience as an Instrument Technician.
• Inpatient sterile processing CRCST or CSPDT certification preferred.
• Outpatient sterile processing CRCST, CSPDT or CASSPT certification preferred.
• GI Labs: CFER is acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Disinfects, sterilizes, and assembles surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Recognizes surgical instruments and instrument trays typically assembled in the area.

REQUIRED

1. High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education.

1. Central Service Technician Certification:
   1. Inpatient sterile processing CRCST or CSPDT certification.
   2. Outpatient sterile processing CRCST, CSPDT or CASSPT certification.
   3. For GI Labs, CFER is acceptable.
