Job summary

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Medical Supply Technician - Instrument Management System Coordinator (MST-IMSC) to support the EKHCS Sterile Processing Service. You will manage the IMS, track instruments, and collaborate with SPS leadership on improvements.

Ideal candidates will have knowledge of Reusable Medical Devices (RMD), infection control, and experience with instrument-tracking systems. This role involves coordinating staff and maintaining compliance with QA guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: One year above high school with health care related courses.
• Experience: Six months of creditable experience performing the work.
• English proficiency: Able to communicate in English.
• Grandfathering provisions apply for current MSTs in VA.
• Knowledge of aseptic principles and SPS procedures.
• Experience with instrument tracking systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Instrument Management System (IMS) in the SPS.
• Maintain and troubleshoot the instrument tracking system.
• Coordinate training and orientation on IMS for SPS staff.
• Collaborate with SPS leadership to implement policy updates and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and quality assurance guidelines.
