Job summary

NYU Langone Health in New York seeks an Instrument Coordinator for the KP SPD Day Shift (35 hours). You will manage new instrument sets, assess tray packaging, and coordinate instrument delivery to the Operating Rooms.

You will analyze instrument usage, adjust preference cards, and communicate with OR charge nurses and SPD leadership. The role requires CSP certification (CRCST) and a bachelor’s degree or two years CSP experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 1 year CSP experience with CRCST certification.
• CRCST certification through HSPA or CBSPD.
• 2 years CSP experience with CRCST and one of these certifications: CIS, CER, CHL, CST, etc.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate instrumentation needed for the next day with the OR schedule.
• Order replacement instrumentation and refurbishing of damaged or missing instrumentation.
• Determine container sizes and assemble instrument sets per AAMI standards.
• Assist with tray optimization and cost-saving inventory approaches.
• Maintain organized instrument storage and tracking database.
• Communicate between Surgical Services and SPD to prioritize needs.
