Job summary

TIC - The Industrial Company in Greenville, MS is seeking an entry-level instrument helper to assist skilled craftspersons with installation, calibration and testing of instruments and test equipment. You will move materials, set up work sites, and learn to read job specs under supervision.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, assembling piping components, and aiding with maintenance and repair while extending safety-conscious workmanship in a dynamic industrial setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
• Field experience in chosen craft discipline.
• Knowledge of safe and efficient use of tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to select type and size of pipe, tube and related material according to job specification.
• Assist with installation, repair, maintenance, and calibration of instruments and test equipment.
• Assist skilled craftsman to measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install piping and tubing.
• Move materials and equipment to work locations and set up work sites.
• May assist with disassembling malfunctioning instruments or test equipment and examine circuits for defects.
• Replace or repair defective parts using hand tools.
• Reassemble and test equipment for conformance to specifications.
• Inspect instruments and test equipment and adjust calibration to standards.
• May calibrate instruments or test equipment per established standards.
