Job description

Join to apply for the Instrument & Electrical Technician role at DuPont.

We have an immediate opening for an Instrument & Electrical (I&E) Technician supporting maintenance at our Newark, DE site.

Normal working hours are 6:00AM to 2:30PM, Monday through Friday.

This role provides I&E maintenance support across the Newark Site, responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical equipment and instrumentation to ensure safe, reliable operation, troubleshooting, and cost-effective maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Troubleshoot, install, maintain, and repair electrical equipment up to 480VAC, 3-phase, including motors, drives, switchgear, transformers, and UPS systems.
• Troubleshoot, install, maintain, configure, test, calibrate, and repair plant equipment like control valves, solenoids, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
• Troubleshoot, install, maintain, configure, test, calibrate, and repair instruments such as flow, pressure, temperature, level, load cells, and proximity sensors.
• Conduct interlock testing and ensure safety equipment compliance.
• Write and assist in training on electrical operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Contribute to the design and planning of I&E systems and processes.
• Interpret blueprints, drawings, and P&IDs.
• Assist in defining spare parts, building equipment files in SAP, and scheduling maintenance.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers regarding electrical equipment issues.

Safety and Quality: Comply with safety practices, maintain equipment safety, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Active Journeyperson Electrician License through Delaware; Master Electrician preferred.
• 5+ years of instrumentation and electrical experience in manufacturing, preferably in chemical or medical device sectors.
• Willingness to respond to emergencies and work overtime as needed.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, and online training; experience with PLCs (Allen-Bradley) is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in teams.

Physical Demands: Regular standing, walking, sitting, manual handling up to 50 pounds, working on elevated platforms, and wearing PPE are required.
