Job Description

This position is a contract position with the possibility to go perm. Therefore: (1) Candidates must be eligible to permanently work in the US; (2) At minimum, a High school diploma or GED equivalent is required for candidates seeking placement in this position.

This is a contract assignment until the end of May 2026. This contract has no paid time off (PTO), including holiday and vacation pay. Contractors can request time off; however, it will not be paid. If this arrangement is not suitable, please do not apply.

I&E Technician Job Description

The I &E Technician modifies, repairs, or overhauls electronic and electrical equipment and controls. Applies knowledge of electronics principles to diagnose malfunctions and restore equipment to operation.

Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in installing all instrumentation and electrical components safely.
  • Troubleshoot control systems and complex equipment related to gas receipts, turbines, generators, process plants, dehydration, control and pump stations, and gas chromatography.
  • Run conduit, pull wire, change motors, and maintain lighting systems and basic motor controls.
  • Maintain advanced monitoring devices such as gas, flame, fire detectors, vibration, and temperature monitors.
  • Read P&ID and electrical diagrams, interpret plant electrical diagrams, and update electrical drawings.
  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain end devices, alarms, shutdown systems, process controls, variable frequency drives, air/fuel controllers, and panel boards.
  • Perform preventative and general maintenance on electronic and pneumatic equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required; technical trade school, apprenticeship, certification, or associate degree in instrumentation or related field preferred.
  • Ability to read safety procedures, work procedures, blueprints, P&IDs, work permits, and manuals.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical codes; familiar with AC voltage (120-480V), three-phase and single-phase, plus 24 VDC.
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
  • 1-3 years of electrical and instrumentation experience, preferably in the energy industry.
  • Strong mechanical skills and dexterity with tools and equipment.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and respond under stressful or hazardous conditions.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in various weather conditions, and in confined spaces.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs., transport loads up to 75 lbs., and apply torque up to 100 foot lbs.
  • Must be able to work in various positions and heights, and wear safety equipment.
  • Availability for call-outs and overtime; willing to relocate within 1 hour of reporting location; ability to travel domestically.
  • Vendor must supply vehicle and tools; truck should include a rat pack or utility bed for tools.

Note: Not eligible for per diem.
