Job description

Position Summary

Responsible for the technical support of all branch locations, including shop floor, field service, and classroom training.

Responsibilities

• Perform updates on equipment, new product introductions, and provide hands‑on support for troubleshooting and repair of technical problems with equipment and computers related to repair.
• Serve as the technical go‑to person for branches, demonstrating expertise in hydraulics, engines, powertrain, electrical/electronics, CAT support systems, and related computer skills.
• Coordinate technical communication with CAT and share information across all branches.
• Deliver technical training to branches in the classroom and on‑the‑job, covering vocational trucks, Tier 4, buses, and other equipment.
• Act as the technical support person for all branch locations.
• Take ownership of training programs, breaking down barriers to achieve training goals.
• Collaborate with the Technical Communicator to share information with CAT and across branches.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least a Level IV mechanic with above‑average performance at that level.
• Strong coaching and mentoring skills to develop mechanics during their learning curve.
• Ability to commute and spend time at all branches for classroom and on‑the‑job training.
• Excellent communication skills with CAT to resolve equipment issues and share information.
• Team player who works with other trainers/technical support personnel to improve technicians' expertise.
• Willingness to be on‑call at all hours to support technicians' repair needs.
• Availability to work 2nd or 3rd shift as necessary and to travel to other branches for coverage.
• Commitment to MacAllister's Employee Workforce Development plans.
