Job summary

MacAllister Machinery Co., Inc. is seeking a Field Technician to provide onsite service support at customer locations in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing equipment to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have experience in equipment maintenance, a strong ability to manage their time, and excellent communication skills. A valid Class A CDL and DOT Medical Card are also required.

Position Summary

Field Technician at MacAllister CAT is the onsite Service Specialist who supports customers at their work location. The technician performs maintenance and repair on customer fleet at customer sites to keep them producing output per customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems with equipment/engines.
• Perform all repairs associated with the diagnosis that are possible out in the field.
• Locate and order parts as required, coordinating with parts drivers when necessary.
• Write detailed service reports for internal and external requirements.
• Maintain own equipment.
• Build productive customer relationships to benefit all involved.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of performing and fixing equipment/engines in a timely manner, meeting quality and standards.
• Self-motivated and capable of managing time effectively.
• Promptness and reliability at work.
• Strong communication and listening skills to understand customer needs.
• Strong writing skills to complete detailed service reports.
• Current DOT Medical Card.
• Current Class A CDL.
