South Sound YMCA's Shelton Family YMCA in Shelton, WA is seeking a part-time Swim Instructor to teach Progressive Swimming lessons for children and adults according to National YMCA standards.
You will develop weekly class outlines, ensure safety, promote positive self-esteem, and uphold YMCA policies while delivering quality instruction and ongoing evaluations.
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Swim Instructor is responsible for teaching Progressive Swimming lessons for children and adults according to National YMCA standards. Programs are operated in a manner that ensures the safety of the participants and promotes the mission and goals of the YMCA.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and talk and hear. Incumbent must be able to move freely and quickly throughout YMCA facilities; communicate effectively with people; and use a computer. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
